Scope

These terms govern the use of the website toposuranos.com and its courses. By creating an account or purchasing a subscription you accept them; if you do not agree with them, you can keep reading the open part of the site without an account.

Who provides the service

Topos Uranos is a project of Giorgio Reveco, an individual based in Chile. For any question about these terms, payments or refunds, you can write to privacidad@toposuranos.com.

The service

Topos Uranos publishes online courses organised by discipline. Each course has three levels of access: its first three lessons can be read without an account; a further part, with a free account; the rest, with a subscription. The split is calculated on the lessons published in each language, so it may vary from one language to another and grows as new lessons are published. Details and current prices are on the Plans page.

Courses are revised and expanded over time: we may correct, reorder or replace lessons to improve them, while making sure that the essence of each course is preserved.

Accounts

From the age of 14 you can create an account on your own; if you are younger, you need permission from your parent or guardian. You must provide a valid email address and keep your password secret. Your account is personal: you may not share it or transfer it, and you are responsible for what is done with it.

You can delete your account at any time from «My account». How your data is processed is described in the Privacy policy.

Subscription and payments

The subscription is offered as a monthly plan and an annual plan, at the prices for your country published on the Plans page, plus any applicable taxes. It is purchased from «My account» and only an adult may purchase it: if the account holder is a minor, the subscription is purchased and paid for by their parent or guardian, who declares this before paying.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it collects the payment, issues the invoice, remits the taxes and handles enquiries about charges and refunds. By paying you also accept Paddle’s terms of purchase, which are linked in the payment window.

The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period with the same plan and the same payment method, until you cancel it. You can cancel the renewal at any time from «My account»: you will not be charged again and you will keep access until the end of the period already paid. Before you confirm a payment, «My account» shows the amount to be charged and the date of the next renewal.

You can switch between the monthly and the annual plan at any time. The change takes effect immediately: the unused part of the previous plan is credited and the difference is charged, which is shown before you confirm.

If a renewal charge fails, Paddle retries it for a few days and notifies you so that you can update your payment method; meanwhile you keep access. If the payment is not completed, the subscription ends and the paid content is no longer available.

Price changes

We may change the prices of the plans. A price change does not affect the period you have already paid for and, if you have an active subscription, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the renewal to which it applies, so that you can cancel it if you do not agree.

Refunds

The conditions for requesting a refund are set out in the Refund policy.

Intellectual property

The texts, figures, problems, programs and design of the courses belong to Topos Uranos or are used with permission. You may read them, print them and keep copies for your personal study, and quote them stating their source. You may not reproduce, sell or publish them elsewhere, in whole or in part, without written permission.

Acceptable use

You may not circumvent the site’s access restrictions, download its content by automated means, share paid access with third parties or use the site in a way that impairs its operation or that of other users. If you breach these terms, we may suspend or close your account; if we close it while you have a paid subscription and the breach is not serious, we will refund the unused part of the period.

Nature of the courses

Topos Uranos courses are online learning and do not lead to official degrees or certifications. The credits and study hours indicated are approximate estimates; their recognition depends on each institution. Self-assessments serve only as feedback for you.

Availability and liability

We strive to keep the site available and the courses accurate, but we cannot guarantee an uninterrupted or error-free service. If you find an error, we will be grateful if you let us know.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months. Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to you by the consumer protection laws of your country.

End of the service

If at any time we stop offering the subscription, we will notify you in advance and refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Chile, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you reside.

Changes to the terms

If we modify these terms, we will publish the new version here with its date and, if the change is significant, we will notify you by email before it takes effect. Changes do not apply to periods already paid for.
