Privacy policy
What data Topos Uranos keeps when you create an account, what it is used for and how you can download or delete it.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Principle
The home page, the course map and the first three lessons of each course can be read without an account and without giving any data. To read the rest of the lessons or save your progress you need a free account; whoever creates one entrusts us with the data described here, and we use it solely to provide them with that service.
Data controller
The controller of your data is Giorgio Reveco, who runs Topos Uranos and is based in Chile. For any matter concerning this policy or your data, you can write to privacidad@toposuranos.com.
What data we keep
Your username, your email address, your password (encrypted: nobody can read it, not even us), your full name and profile photo if you choose to add them, the language in which you prefer to receive emails, the date on which you accepted this policy and declared your age, the learning path you choose (the programmes you want to prepare for) and your progress in the courses (which lessons you have viewed or completed, and when).
What we use it for
To identify you when you sign in, show your progress and let you continue where you left off, to suggest courses based on your progress and your learning path, and to send you the essential account emails: activation and password recovery. We do not send advertising, we do not sell or share your data and we do not build profiles with it.
Minors
From the age of 14 you can create an account on your own. If you are under 14, you need permission from your parent or guardian, who must create the account with you or give their consent before you use it.
The paid subscription may only be purchased by an adult: if the account holder is a minor, the subscription is purchased and paid for by their parent or guardian from the student’s account, who is responsible for the payment.
Cookies and storage in your browser
We only use the cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in while you use your account. We use no tracking or advertising cookies. If this changes in the future, we will say so here and ask for your consent first.
In addition, the site stores in your own browser, and never on our server, some preferences and progress that do not require an account: day or night mode, the voice and reading speed you chose, what you write in the exercises, the results of your self-assessments and whether you are signed in. You can delete them whenever you like from your browser settings.
Reading aloud
Reading aloud uses the voices of your own browser or system. Voices installed on your device read the text without sending it to anyone. Some voices that the browser offers online, such as those from Google or Microsoft, send the text they read to those companies’ servers, which handle it according to their own policies; the site’s voice selector shows which ones are online, so you can choose an installed one if you prefer.
Visit statistics
To know how many people read the site and from which countries, we count the visits to each page without cookies and without storing personal data: when a page opens, the server infers the country from the IP address, using a database kept on our own server, and discards the address at once, keeping only totals by day, page, language, country and referring site. To estimate how many distinct visitors there were each day we use an encrypted fingerprint that changes daily and is deleted the next day, so it cannot recognise you from one day to the next or identify you.
Payments and subscription
If you purchase a subscription, the payment is processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited), our reseller and Merchant of Record: it receives your payment and billing data directly (the payment method, your name, your country and, where applicable, your postal code or your tax identification number), processes them as a controller under its own privacy policy and issues the invoices. We never see or store your card details.
To give you access, we send Paddle your email address, so that the payment is in your name, and an identifier of your account; Paddle informs us of the status of your subscription and of each payment: plan, amount, currency, dates, invoice number and, if you pay by card, its brand and its last four digits. We keep that record for as long as you keep your account; Paddle keeps the invoices for the period required by law.
When you purchase, we also store the date on which you accepted the terms and declared that you are an adult or the guardian of the account holder.
The payment window is the only part of the site that loads third-party resources: it opens from Paddle’s servers only when you decide to pay or update your payment method. To show you the prices for your country, our server queries Paddle with your IP address, without storing it; your browser does not connect to Paddle for this.
Where it is stored
Your data is stored on the server of our hosting provider, which acts on behalf of Topos Uranos and only for this purpose, and which may process it outside your country, always solely to provide the service. Communications between your browser and the site are encrypted.
The site’s pages load no third-party resources: fonts, formulas and all other elements are served from the site itself.
How long
As long as you keep your account. When you delete it, your data and your progress are removed immediately. Accounts not activated within three days may be removed.
Your rights
From «My account» you can, at any time, add or correct your full name, change or remove your profile photo, choose or change your learning path, download a copy of all your data in a machine-readable format and delete your account permanently. For any other request about your data (access, rectification, erasure, objection or portability), write to us at privacidad@toposuranos.com. You can also contact the data protection authority of your country.
Changes
If we modify this policy, we will publish the new version here with its date and, if the change is significant, we will notify you by email.
