En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, ce malentendu provient d&#8217;un h\u00e9ritage historique en physique, car dans l&#8217;Antiquit\u00e9, on pensait que la chaleur \u00e9tait une sorte de substance, une id\u00e9e que nous savons aujourd&#8217;hui \u00eatre fausse. Actuellement, nous comprenons que la chaleur est l&#8217;\u00e9nergie en transit qui provoque des variations de temp\u00e9rature, de mani\u00e8re analogue \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on dont le travail est l&#8217;\u00e9nergie utilis\u00e9e pour changer l&#8217;\u00e9tat d&#8217;un syst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis sa cr\u00e9ation, ce terme a eu suffisamment de temps pour s&#8217;\u00e9tablir dans l&#8217;usage quotidien en physique. Ainsi, bien que des termes comme \u00abcapacitance\u00bb pourraient sembler plus appropri\u00e9s, les remplacer aujourd&#8217;hui impliquerait simplement de renommer des millions de livres sans apporter de b\u00e9n\u00e9fice significatif.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, et malgr\u00e9 tout, le concept de chaleur et de capacit\u00e9 n&#8217;est pas particuli\u00e8rement compliqu\u00e9.
